Data Interface has only been working in the Public Sector since the start of 2003, but it already accounts for between a third and a half of our clients. This rapid growth has been driven by the success of our mobile working solutions, particularly where there is a wide variation in practice between councils that requires a highly flexible solution able to accommodate each authority's specific working process.
The best example of this is in Fairer Charging (see Electronic Financial Assessments
) where the legislation leaves plenty of scope for authorities to apply different local practices. We have implemented our system at one County Council who had to abandon their investment in a competitive system because it could not be configured to handle the full extent of their requirement.
All our solutions are built on our Fascia mobile working environment, which is designed to allow mobile professionals to conduct all their tasks within one intuitive, simple to use environment.
Two of our solutions were developed as Proofs of Concept
under Project NOMAD (the government's National Mobile Working Project). These are Electronic Financial Assessments
and Building Control
.
Electronic Financial Assessments
is now live across a broad range of councils from London Boroughs to County Councils and further councils are in the implementation process. A number of councils are using the solution within a Joint Teams context (i.e. with DWP and CAB employees joining LA staff in conducting the assessments). The solution won a number of awards.
Transforming the efficiency of mobile professionals also enables the re-engineering of the end to end business process and hence can contribute significantly to an authority's Gershon savings agenda.
The prime reasons for selecting a Fascia based solution are:
